The K 2025 Trade Fair & Congress, the world’s leading plastics and rubber exhibition held in Düsseldorf from October 8–15, 2025, highlighted the plastics sector’s rapid transition toward circular economy solutions, bio-based materials, and non-toxic additives. Under the overarching theme “Green – Smart – Responsible", more than 3,250 exhibitors showcased sustainable materials, recycling technologies, and innovations aimed at reducing reliance on traditional phthalate plasticizers — a development widely viewed as supportive of Acetyl Tributyl Citrate (ATBC) and other safer plasticizers in future downstream applications.
Industry analysts note that although ATBC did not have a dedicated pavilion at K 2025, the broader context emphasized health-conscious materials, regulatory compliance, and environmentally responsible plastics production, offering a strong platform for expanding ATBC’s market presence.
Representatives from plastics additives companies highlighted that non-phthalate plasticizers with favorable safety profiles are increasingly adopted by producers of consumer goods, medical supplies, and sustainable packaging. These trends align with the sustainability and regulatory pressures observed at A+A 2025, where suppliers are progressively integrating chemical safety considerations into their product portfolios.
Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, ATBC manufacturers and distributors are expected to pursue cross-industry engagement at major trade fairs — not only in plastics-centric events like K 2025 but also in broader safety, health, and sustainability forums, where compliance and safer material selection are playing an increasingly important role in purchasing decisions.
