ATBC is FDA-approved for use in children's toys to replace traditional phthalate plasticizers and reduce the exposure to child's health. ATBC is primarily used in child's toys as a plasticiser of plastics (including polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to increase the flexibility, ductility and processing properties of plastics, and to minimise the hardness and brittleness of plastics. The heat, cold, light and water resistance of ATBC has made it a common material in many soft children's toys such as baby pacifiers, exercise balls, plastic handles, etc. In addition, ATBC is highly soluble and biodegradable, which makes it suitable for good transparency and low-temperature bending in plastics.
